Northside High School Receives $500 As Part Of GE Star Award
Last spring, Karen Harshfield, a 2008 graduate of Northside High School currently attending William and Mary, received the GE STAR Award from the GE Foundation and the Institute of International Education. Harshfield won $2,500 to go toward education-related expenses during her first year of college.
As part of this award, Harshfield selected Northside High School to receive $500 from the GE Foundation to use for educational purposes.
The GE STAR Awards are highly competitive one-time Awards for high-achieving children of General Electric employees and retirees worldwide. Each award recipient can select a high school teacher for an award for use in his or her school.
