Virginia law now allows taxpayers to voluntarily donate all or part of their state income tax refund to qualified organizations as approved by the General Assembly, which includes a public school foundation. Any individual eligible to receive a tax refund may designate at the time of filing their return a specified dollar amount of their refund to go to the Roanoke County Schools Education Foundation. Please refer to Virginia Schedule ADJ and use school foundation code 161001.
The Education Foundation is a now a member of the Kroger Cares Program. When you shop at Kroger, 5% of your purchase will be donated to the Foundation. You have to purchase a gift card that has been linked to the Foundation and then you can reload the cards at your convenience any time at any Kroger store. Please contact Jean Wynn for more information.
Roanoke County Public School employees
are now able to make a contribution to the Foundation through a payroll
deduction option which was implemented in July, 2001. We would like to thank
the employees who have signed up for this program for their support. The
payroll deduction program will be ongoing and any employee who wishes to
join may apply by contacting Jean Wynn at 562-3797.
